ECO-TIP FOR OCTOBER
Don’t leave your TV on “STAND-BY”. A TV left permanently on “stand-by”
can use almost as much electricity as one that is switched on. Switch
off at the set. It will save up to £12 a year on your bills.
Donkeys etc!!!
On Saturday 11th October at 10 am in the hall there
will be a workshop to make animals to join the nativity figures made
last year. Do come along and help. Apron advisable!!. Coffee and
chocolate biscuits provided.

Before the harvest
‘I appointed
you to go on and bear fruit, fruit that will last’
(John 15.16, REB)
Before the harvest
the ripening,
before the ripening
the growing,
before the growing
the sowing,
before the sowing
the preparation of the soil.
May we be so prepared
for the Spirit’s sowing
that the seed
may grow in fruitful soil
and ripen to a worthy harvest.

Lord,
isn’t
your creation wasteful?
Fruits
never equal
the
seedlings’ abundance.
Springs scatter water.
The
sun gives out
enormous light.
May
your bounty teach me
greatness of heart.
May
your magnificence
stop
me being mean.
Seeing
you a prodigal
and
open-handed giver,
let me
give unstintingly…
like
God’s own.
